Awards and Recognition
It is a little awkward and embarrassing to list my awards and recognition for everyone to see. Honestly, I'm more interested in my family having access to them so they can remember more of my service over my lifetime. But, for some professional situations, they can be beneficial as proof of walking the talk. There are a few of these that I no longer have in my possession and are only digitally recorded with a photograph as I don't have room to display them so a photo of them is all I have.
In the event of business awards where the public voted, especially for our restaurant, we merely asked our guests if they'd vote for us...and they happily did.

US Congressional Recognition, House of Representatives
In December 2024, Congressman Kevin Kiley filed this into the Congressional Record and he read it on the House floor, "Recognizing Roseville Councilmember Scott Alvord of Roseville, California." It was unexpected, flattering, and appreciated.

Key to the City of Roseville
On December 11, 2024, the mayor presented this Key to the City with a label that reads, "Thank you for your leadership on City Council 2016-2024." It is a meaningful symbol that is proudly displayed in my home office.
Community Voted "Best-of-the-Best" and "Readers Choice" Awards in the Press Tribune and Style Magazine
Here is a smattering of awards that are cherished because they were voted on by the community. They Include awards like, "Local Elected Official," (and variations of "Elected Official," and "Local Elected Official - Male"), "Favorite Civic Leader" and "Favorite Local Businessperson."
When I was contacted each year and notified of these awards, they were such a warm experience because I knew people took the time to vote for me. It was heartwarming to know I made a positive impression.
Rotary Club - Service Excellence - Top Life Saver 2019-2020
On June 27, 2020, I received this special award for "19 Lives Saved" based on an estimate that 40 hours of community service equates to saving one life based on some stats I don't have details on, but I assume it pertains to their lifesaving work in poor countries and funds raised that equate to volunteer hours.
I was able to document 754 hours of service, mostly during the first several months of the pandemic as my work in the Roseville Volunteer Force was heavy for many months. I certainly wasn't expecting this, so it was nice to get recognized for that crazy time for our entire world. It was signed by Leigh-Ann Reinero, President 2019-2020, and Sheri Katz, Service Director 2019-2020. This was from the Rotary Passport One Club of Greater Sacramento.
Business Person of the Year Finalist (US Congressional Recognition)
In May, 2015 I was elected as a finalist for the Gallina's Business Person of the Year as part of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce's awards process. In fact, I made the finalist list two years in a row, which was kinda cool considering the many applicants they got every year and the process for narrowing down the finalists.
I received US House recognition by Congressman Tom McClintock AND CA State Assembly.

Working on this one since emails on websites get lots of spam. I have a dozen different email accounts and will likely add another one for this puppy, but not yet.
